I've advocated for a more sustainable and responsible travel industry for over a decade. Travel experiences, hotels, and destinations that positively impact local lives, community, culture, and the environment will always surpass those that don't. Travel can be a force for good if we know where to turn. In today's climate and biodiversity crisis, there’s no time to do it any other way. It is no longer a nice to have; it’s a license to operate.

Sustainable travel expert.

Drawing on over 15 years of experience in consumer research, strategy, and sustainability roles, I help hotels and travel companies cut through greenwashing to have a positive impact and communicate with integrity. Projects range from designing and writing sustainability content plans to embedding purpose into strategy.

Writer.

Since circumnavigating the world without flying in 2008, I have written about slow and sustainable travel, from rewilding the Scottish Highlands to electrifying remote Himalayan villages. Inspiring landscapes, committed people, and positive change underpin the stories I chase. When not covering sustainable travel, I write about nature, nature connection, and climate solutions. I am the author of two books: Sustainable Travel, which lifts the lid on how travel can have a positive and transformative impact, and Slow Travel Family Breaks, which identifies sustainable experiences led by locals across the UK.

Qualitative researcher.

Brand and strategy research work has taken me on projects worldwide for the likes of IHG, the BBC, ITV, Tesco, TUI and Sony. I love getting stuck into literature reviews, interviews, workshops, focus groups, and research reports to unpack insights. Projects range from understanding Gen Z perceptions of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to what motivates consumers to make more sustainable choices.
